1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Clarify. By downloading, installing, or using the Clarify mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Clarify is a mobile application designed to help users read and understand complex mail, letters, and documents. The App allows you to:

• Take photos of documents.
• Receive simplified summaries of what the document means.
• Receive suggested steps to take (like paying a bill or calling an office).
• Receive warnings about potential scams.

3. Important Disclaimer: Not Legal or Financial Advice

Clarify is a computer helper, not a lawyer, accountant, or government worker.

• You must always double-check important dates, bank account numbers, and payment amounts on the original paper document.
• The App may make mistakes or misread numbers.
• We are not responsible if you miss a deadline, pay the wrong person, or suffer financial loss based on the App's summary. The final responsibility always lies with you.

4. Privacy and Local Storage

Your privacy is important to us. The photos you take of your documents are processed to give you an answer, but they are not stored on our remote servers. Please read our Privacy Policy for more details on how we protect your information.

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features

The App uses advanced Artificial Intelligence (Google Gemini) to read and explain your letters. You acknowledge that:

• The AI is designed to be helpful, but it is not perfect.
• Scam detection is a helpful tool, but it cannot catch 100% of frauds.
• You grant us a temporary license to process the specific document you submit so the AI can read it and return an explanation to your phone.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

6.1 Free and Premium Features

We offer a Free version of the app (which includes advertisements and a daily scan limit) and a Premium "Guardian" version (which removes ads, increases the daily limit, and uses a more advanced AI).

6.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed safely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) through their respective app stores. Subscription management is handled by our partner, RevenueCat.

6.3 Automatic Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of your current period. You can cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings.

6.4 Free Trial

We may offer free trial periods (e.g., a 7-Day Free Trial). If you do not cancel before the trial ends, Apple or Google will charge you for the subscription.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, text, and graphics are owned by the developer and are protected by international copyright laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or distribute the App for commercial purposes.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

• Financial loss, late fees, or legal penalties
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Damages resulting from AI mistakes or inaccurate summaries

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR €30, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to change, update, or stop providing the App at any time. We may also adjust the daily limits for both Free and Premium users to keep the service running smoothly.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles.
